From safety-critical development to system-level verification - Deimos Space S.L.U. (now Indra S.A.)

I started my career as a developer working on safety-critical ground segment components (DAL-B level) at Deimos Space, contributing to the Galileo satellite navigation system. I later moved into Integration, Verification and Qualification (IVQ) roles across the Galileo ground segment.

  • Development of safety-critical ground systems (DAL-B)
  • IVQ activities: integration, testing and payload verification
  • Participation in system-level test campaigns (including satellite compatibility tests)
  • Development of a real-time Galileo signal decoder for test and verification purposes

Environment: ESA / Galileo ground segment, regulated and safety-critical context.

Automation and tooling leadership as Deputy IVQ Manager — Thales Alenia Space GmbH

As Deputy IVQ Manager, I was responsible for verification tooling and automation for one of the Galileo ground segment elements, as well as supporting system-level test activities.

  • Ownership of IVQ tooling and verification automation
  • Automation of complex software installation and system setup
  • Reduced a full system setup from ~3 man-months to a fully automated, repeatable process completed in ~6 hours
  • Technical coordination and support of verification teams

As an Engineering Lead in cloud automation projects at VMware by Broadcom, I worked on the design and delivery of complex automation solutions integrating VMware platforms with third-party products.

  • Design and implementation of complex integrations between VMware vRealize Automation (vRA) and external systems
  • Development of fully automated, from-scratch platform installations orchestrated from vRA
